Went to da flix 2 see a picture init. I saw Unleashed - a film I didn't even care to remember the name of before seeing it. I didn't really wanna see it at all, but am not one to turn down a cinema visit. Also gives me oppurtunity to plug Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Anyway it was a Jet Li Martial Arts film seemingly - a genre I don't really care for. It is ok and usually quite cool when you watch well coreographed fights - but its a cheap thrill really that I never look forward to. Unleashed however wasn't just a martial arts film. It was like Snatch meets a typical Jet Li film meets some heartwarming story about gentle loving folk. I actually enjoyed this! even though the characters were completely cliched and devoid of any depth, it made a change from regular martial arts films. That said, I wouldnt call it a great film or anything. It just wasn't dull to sit through. All the acting was also fairly good - but nothing to shout about cos its easy to play one dimensional characters. The people I saw it with generally didn't like it cos they wanted kicks and stuff for 2 hours. This was not like that all the way - in some ways the plot actually gave more motivation for the fights which made them better. This is certainly different. It has some cool stylish cinematography and stuff too. I still probably would'nt see it again, but it was different! Hero was better.
oooo on the way back whilst dropping off people, a fox came right up to the car we were in. It was a suburban area - I had never seen a wild fox so close. It was the perfect evening weather wise - nice red skys in the evening dabbed with varying shades of purple cloud, followed by a horror like mist and full moon covered by cloud. I enjoyed driving in it.
